A new series that I am so excited to start is a monthly book review & recipe!
I am an avid reader, but my life definitely gets in the way of my progress, but I’ve made sure to include reading in my life nearly every single day for the past couple of months. Take a warm bubble bath with lavender and my latest book has been very high on my “self-care” list for a while now. It’s quiet, it’s relaxing, and it gives me time to myself to process all of my wild and crazy feelings and emotions and get some things in order mentally. Reading has been wonderful in helping me escape the chaos of my own head and go into another world. It’s like a mini-vacation.
So once a month (at the very end) I’ll share a review of the book I read that month along with a random recipe. I don’t intend for these recipes to be very long. They may only be a drink recipe, a snack, or a small dessert.
My book for April is The Pact by Jodi Picoult.
I would recommend this book a thousand times over! The Pact was my first Picoult book and I am so glad that it was! I am officially a fan. Obviously, the book sounds super intriguing just from the synopsis, but once you get into it, you really don’t want to stop. This sounds like such a cliche, but it’s true.
I always try to look for super obvious clues as to the outcome of books that I read, but I kept going back and forth with this one. I couldn’t decide what was going to happen! And the research it must have taken her to write the court scenes must have been intense! I will absolutely admit that I do not have the talent to put together a piece that is so intricate, flows this well, and is so well-read.
If you’re into crime, murder mystery, or love stories, this is definitely a must read!
And, now onto the recipe! I’m getting more into the smoothie bowl trend so I thought I’d share my latest smoothie bowl creation!
My smoothie bowl had:
1 cup of ice
1 cup of pineapple
1/2 cup of blueberries
1 scoop of strawberry protein powder
Have you ever read The Pact?
