Good morning & happy Friday! It is so yucky, foggy, and rainy here in Michigan, but I love it! I’m home from work and catching up on a lot of work today, so this feels like the perfect weather for it. Plus, I’m heading out with Krystal tonight, so I have a lot to do before then.
Before I got to work, I had breakfast; STO vanilla bean yogurt with plant-based chocolate protein powder, and gluten-free granola, with a side of melon, and acai, blueberry, pomegranate tea. I wanted a change from my usual morning lemon or mango ginger. But, there is half a lemon in there! And I’m obsessed with my flowers, so they’re everywhere. Yellow and red were the perfect combination.
Last Friday I didn’t wake up until after 10! I had a lot of sleep to catch up on since I’d had a crazy week. I was off of work, so I spent the day working on my blog at home and snuggling with this little babe. My anxiety was on and off throughout the day, but it still wasn’t horrible. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in my anxiety since leaving work. It was so unhealthy for me.
On Saturday, I woke up from some really crazy dreams, and that start to my day just made me feel really “off.” I couldn’t place it, but I just didn’t feel right mentally, and of course, it made me anxious. Before work, I grabbed a very berry hibiscus tea from Starbucks. Work actually ended up going well, and the anxiety faded.
After work, I tried to work on my blogging to-do list at home, but I just couldn’t get my head in it. Instead, I put my things away, turned the light out, crawled into bed, and meditated using Headspace. Meditation is something I’ve really been trying to incorporate into my self-care routine to calm my mind more often. It really helped get my mind straight, I felt calmer, and I ended up sleeping so well!

The majority of my night was really restful, but towards the morning I ended up having some more unpleasant dreams, so I felt a little overwhelmed and anxious.
I had oatmeal with protein powder, a cut up banana, two cuties, and a mango ginger tea for breakfast. After work, I only got a little done at home. Again, my concentration just wasn’t there.
To be honest, I don’t remember any of Monday, and I totally forgot to make notes, but I do have two photos.
But, I do know I worked because I ended up finding this in the bathroom at work. Somebody left this message in a colorful card on the counter. This is such a beautiful idea, and it really made my day. I placed it back on the counter for someone else to find.
Tuesday was really not a great day, and for once, it wasn’t mentally! I went to work, and everything was going fine, but later in the afternoon, I started feeling really crappy. I had all the physical anxiety symptoms (sweating, shaking, racing heart, shallow breaths) without any of the anxiety! I wasn’t anxious about anything, and my mind wasn’t going crazy, but my body really seemed to be reacting to something.
I was done with everything at work and had three hours to go, so I just ended up leaving early. I tried to take a nap when I got home, but couldn’t fall asleep, so I just spent some time resting.
On Wednesday I had the day off, and I had so much to do! As soon as I woke up, I headed straight to the grocery store. Tuesday night I had found a few recipes I wanted to make, plus some meal prep for work lunches.
First, I cut up a mini watermelon, a cantaloupe, and honeydew and mixed it together for a melon salad.
Then, I made a banana oatmeal muffins! You can get the recipe here!
Then, I roasted potatoes and carrots with garlic powder for meal prep.
My two meals:
Turkey burgers with garlic powder with veggies and brown rice
Chicken marinated in orange sauce with veggies and brown rice.
For lunch after my baking and cooking, I had a chicken meal and then got some work done before heading out for the night. I made a very long stop at Hobby Lobby for fun blog supplies, first. I swear, I could spend hours in there!
After that, I headed to Milford for dinner with the girls. There were 5 of us that met up at Smoke Street, and we had so much fun! Unfortunately, a little while after I got home late that night, my anxiety hit and I ended having a really rough episode.
Thankfully, yesterday was much better! I sipped on my lemon & mango ginger tea at work, had a turkey burger meal for lunch, and even got to leave an hour early! I spent a lot of time focusing on my blog at home, and it was really relaxing. Since being back at work, I’m learning to appreciate my time spent doing the things I love most!
