9 Ways to Boost your Confidence & Self-Esteem

One of the best ways to practice self-love is to have confidence in yourself. Be confident in your beauty, your intelligence, and your heart! Know your worth!

While confidence is a wonderfully beautiful trait to have, it can also be one of the hardest to come by. With the impact of social media, hate, and negativity in our world, being confident in yourself can be nearly impossible, but if you strive for a healthy mind, confidence is an absolute must!

So, here are 9 ways to boost your confidence & self-esteem!

  • Surround yourself with loving people

When I spend a lot of time by myself, or with negative people, my confidence definitely gets low. One of the fastest ways to boost your self-esteem is to get together with friends and family and have fun, laugh, and live in the moment. This joy can quickly remind you of how incredible you are.

  • Start a gratitude journal

Gratitude journals can literally be life-changing if you take it seriously enough, and they’re simple! Just write down 3-5 things you’re grateful for every day. By doing this, you’ll teach your brain to start focusing more on the positive things that happen throughout the day, instead of focusing on the negative. The happier you are, the more confidence you’ll have and vice versa.

  • Do something you love daily

Since I started my blog and I have something to focus on and goals to work toward every day, I have felt my self-confidence rise tremendously. So, have something useful and positive to work towards! In addition to that, choose activities from my self-love & care list and do at least one a day.

  • Talk to yourself

We all do it on a daily basis, let’s be honest. But, I’m sure we can all also agree that a lot of our self-talk is very negative. So, turn it around and make it positive. Compliment yourself out loud every day, even if you don’t believe what you’re saying is true. If you continue to say it enough, you’re going to believe it.

  • Get organized

When I’m not organized, my anxiety flares up, and I get overwhelmed and depressed very quickly. I’ve found that one of the best ways to stay organized is to take complete advantage of my life-planner! Once I get everything sorted out, I feel like I have my life together and I’m ready to make things happen!

  • Look your best

When I’m looking like I just rolled out of bed, I’m not feeling confident, and I’m sure most you of can agree. But, when you put on your tight jeans, that super flattering top, and you’re all done up, you’ll have a lot more pep in your step! You’ll wanna show yourself off, and you’re going to FEEL GOOD! The most important part is not looking good, it’s feeling good. So make that happen.

  • Compliment others

Complimenting others and putting a smile on their face is guaranteed to put a smile on yours, too. Send your boyfriend a sweet text, tell your mom her hair looks really great today, and tell a stranger how much you love their earrings. The more positivity you spread, the more you’ll receive.

  • Kill negative, anxious thoughts at the source

Anxious thoughts can really lower your confidence, even when they really have absolutely no truth to them. Your thoughts are powerful, so use them for good! As soon as a negative thought about yourself pops up, cut it off. Find out where it’s coming from and yank that nasty weed up from the root. Don’t let these thoughts linger in your mind.

  • Know your worth and stand your ground

When I stand my ground and have my own back, my confidence soars. I feel powerful, strong, and beautiful. Always remind yourself of your worth, even if you don’t believe it at the time and stand up for yourself and your beliefs no matter how difficult that may be.

How do you boost your self-esteem and confidence?

  1. Yes! Yes! Yes! This is a fine post with excellent tips … I’m so with you on the organisation front. I have regular de-cluttering and cleaning days …. it’s like therapy, but better! ☀️☀️

  2. Love this list! My favorite is complementing others- its so easy to do and brightens everyones day. Plus it helps create a whole mind shift. If you start looking for the positives to complement it gets you out of the negative thought patterns that can keep a person stuck. Nice post!

  3. Thank you for this, I really needed this today. I do most of those things, yet sometimes I forget about myself. I’m planning to get your gratitude journal, I have thinking about starting a bullet journal.😊

    1. Thank you so much for reading, Shani! I’m really glad you found this helpful. I absolutely LOVE looking at bullet journals. I think it’s my OCD side lol, but I’m neither creative, nor talented enough for my own. I have tried, though lol
