One of my favorite places to shop for absolutely everything I can is CVS. If I could make CVS my one-stop shop for everything I could possibly need, that would be Heaven on Earth!
Thursday is one of my days off from work, and my coupons on the CVS app were about to expire, and I had ExtraBucks to spend, so I made a trip this afternoon. As crazy as this sounds, CVS is one of my “happy places.” If you’re familiar with my blog, you know some of my other happy places include; going to dinner with Krystal (my best friend), watching movies with my mom, spending time with Will, and taking bubble baths with candles.
When it comes to anxiety and depression, it’s so important to make a point to do things that make you happy every single day. (I talk more about this in my Self-Love Instagram Challenge post.) I’ve come to realize that one of the solutions to lessening anxiety and decreasing depression is self-love and care. When you focus on loving yourself the best you can, everything else in your life will start to feel a little brighter and a little easier.
CVS is really relaxing to me because it helps me save money (best app ever), it’s quiet and small (good for anxiety), and CVS is constantly increasing its focus on health. They just recently added a ton of new, healthier snacks and drinks, including organic products. I feel stronger (mentally) when I pick something healthy off of the shelf. It just feels like a step in the right direction.
So, here’s what I picked up at CVS today!
Two bags of Gold Emblem Abound air-popped potato fries; barbeque & sea salt flavors! They’re cholesterol and gluten-free! A much healthier snacking substitute!
One of my goals for 2018 that I mentioned in my New Year goals post is that I want to drink more water and less pop! But, we all know that plain water can get boring, so I picked up some different options. I grabbed three flavors of Gold Emblem sparkling water (peach, pineapple/coconut, and kiwi/strawberry), Core organic (watermelon lemonade) which is vegan, BPA-free, low glycemic, gluten-free, non-GMO, and filled with antioxidants, and a new flavor of Bai; Tanzania lemonade tea which is gluten-free, low glycemic, non-GMO, BPA-free, kosher, vegan, and soy free.
I really want to make organic options a more prominent part of my diet so I won’t be intaking as many processed foods, drinks, and chemicals.
I also grabbed three new facemasks; honeydew & chamomile, charcoal & black sugar, and cucumber. I’ve done one facemask before, and I’d like to start putting one on once or twice a week while I take a bubble bath. I’ll be putting together a self-love skincare routine soon that will definitely include facemasks!
I really want to try the CVS fruit leather, but before I do, I grabbed snack bars. They are so flavorful and delicious. I’m pretty excited about these! They’ll be perfect for a quick bite on the way to work or to hold me over until dinner.
